NYS Spring Season 2023
Opening Day is 04/22/2023!
During the spring, NYS offers a comprehensive softball program for girls 5-14 in the Mendon and Upton communities. It all starts with the Opening Day parade and festival in mid-April. Practices and games last through early June.
The girls in the T-Ball and Farm divisions play their games against other NYS teams unless other league options present themselves.
The girls in the Farm, AAA, and Minors divisions play in the Tri-Valley League (TVL). They will play their games against teams from other towns. Games are scored, standings are kept, and a playoff tournament is held during the last week of the season to determine the TVL champion for each division!

League Options
T-Ball
5 & 6 yr olds (birth year 2016-2018)
Hit off tee & coach pitch, instructional, one local game and one practice each week.
Farm (U8)
7 & 8 yr olds (birth year 2014-2015)
Combination or player and coach pitch, instructional, one local game and one practice each week.
AAA (U10)
9 & 10 yr olds (birth year 2012-2013)
Players pitch, modified rules, umpired games, one practice and 2 games each week. Travel to surrounding towns for some games.
U10 will play their games on Sundays and Thursdays
Minors (U12)
11 & 12 yr olds (birth year 2010-2011)
Rec play, full rules, one practice and 2 games each week. Travel to surrounding towns for some games.
NYS follows the American Softball Association’s (ASA) guidelines for placing girls into divisions based on birth year. Please see above for descriptions of the divisions and corresponding birth years. We believe it is important to keep the girls in these divisions for safety and player development reasons. All requests to move players to divisions that do not correspond to their birth year will not be allowed.
